Relaunch in 2023 & Changes We’ve Made
Why Relaunch Now?
The time has finally arrived! As we prepared to close out ‘2022 and move into our third year of business, we reflected on everything we had experienced so far; the hurtles we had navigated, the mistakes we had made and the feedback we received from our wonderful clients. We knew in starting Rüme Design that we had a lot of learning to do and so, with a focus on self-reflection and growth, we re-configured our company policies, fine-tuned our process and enhanced our company aesthetic to step into ‘2023 with a fresh face and a strong outlook for the future.
When we first launched Rüme, we had a very clear vision of how we wanted to present ourselves and the experience we wanted to bring to our clients. That vision has not changed, but the process has evolved as a result of the experience we have gained these past few years. We have grown as business owners and with that comes the opportunity for change. Much like how your home renovation may be approached, the vision is there, but bringing it to reality will require thought, structure and detailing. Read on to see how we set out to “renovate” Rüme Design!
The Steps Involved in Our “Renovation”
Step 1 - We began with our outbound package designs - this gave us a starting point to determine what we were aiming for verbally and aesthetically. New templates would introduce our clients to who we are as a company and what can be expected in working with us. Our new About Us, Design Proposal and Welcome Packets, would enable us to provide clear and consistent content from the beginning!
Step 2 - Next we looked to ourselves. In the beginning, our instinct was to place our designs at the forefront and let our work, in a word, speak for itself. We both tend to be a bit “camera shy,” so this also may have been an unconscious act of self-preservation. That being said, with social media being a critical mode of marketing and communication, we realized that stepping out of our comfort zones was important and giving our clients a glimpse into who we are as individuals and as a team would be a great way to “introduce” ourselves. Our clients are, after all, welcoming us into their homes and trusting us with personal details about who they are and how they live. We wanted our process to start with a bit of trust on our end too.
And so we took the leap, entrusting ourselves into the incredibly talented and capable hands of Dezeynne Studios, Taylor Switzer Makeup & Hair and Janelle Gokule Images to help bring our branding vision to life. As mothers we know it literally takes a village to raise our children and, as it turns out, making your visions come to life does as well. This was a big step for us - putting our faces out there, making ourselves part of the brand, but when you think of Rüme Design we want you to think of the people behind it as well as the beautiful spaces we are so proud to create.
Step 3 - Finally, our Website! To say this was a beast of a task is an understatement; one we did attempt to undertake ourselves, but Graphic Designers we are not. Again, we had a very clear vision and new what outcome we wanted to achieve, but this would not have been possible without the talent of Meagan of Forth & Wild Studio. Meagan absorbed and so efficiently executed our ideas in a way we never could have, both modernizing our look and making our site more dynamic and interactive all the while keeping the core of Rüme Design intact. The new layout and interactive pages gives a client experience that we think all will enjoy!
Our website, when we first launched, was intended to be a simple outlet for information but we have now considered the visitors experience, and we wanted the design to be bolder and provide you with all the information they need in one click.
